Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt made a stunning impression at the closing night of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, walking the red carpet in a stunning saree designed by world fashion giant Gucci.
The festival's evening finale on Saturday night had a list of stellar performers from around the world, such as Jane Fonda, Viola Davis, Elle Fanning, jury president Juliette Binoche, and Cate Blanchett.
Alia, making her second Cannes appearance, posted on Instagram a peek at her red carpet outfit.
"Happy, sunny day at #Cannes2025 @lorealparis @gucci," she wrote. As the global brand ambassador of Gucci, the actress inaugurated what is being billed as the first-ever saree of the label – a high-concept marriage of Indian heritage and modern-day fashion.
The saree, designed using transparent fabric, was lined with a net pattern, studded with silver sequins and sparkling Swarovski crystals. The blouse, which accompanied the saree, was designed in a simple bralette style, so that the elaborate saree took center stage.
Alia had also worn another Gucci outfit earlier the same day — a bright yellow, bespoke three-piece crepe wool skirt suit that showed off her stylish but daring fashion sense.
Her Cannes trip this year started on Friday with a dramatic arrival in an off-shoulder fishtail gown created by Schiaparelli haute couture. Alia is also a global ambassador for L'Oréal Paris, and the brand is marking its 28th year at the esteemed festival.
